SF Connected

a volunteer helping with a senior on how to uses a computer SF Connected is a free city-funded program that provides free digital literacy training and personalized tech support to seniors and adults with disabilities in San Francisco. This program seeks to teach basic smart devices and computer tech skills and help participants stay connected with affordable broadband connectivity through informative and practical teaching sessions on topics such as social media, cybersecurity, accessibility, video communication, etc. Participants are invited to attend weekly classes, free of charge and available online or in person, to learn basic computer and internet skills or to attend special topic-focused sessions to help them overcome social isolation. SF Connected was initially funded by a Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grant and is now fully funded by the San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS).

SF Connected programming and activities are facilitated in senior centers, adult day services centers, community neighborhood centers, and selective and in-partnered senior housing and supportive housing sites. Classes are available in various languages, including Chinese, English, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
